Each June, I try to enter a few items into the Van Zandt County Fair, and have been fortunate to win first, second, or third place on at least one item every year.  Here are some of the winning entries for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004.

1998

1999

I was so excited when I won a First Place Ribbon in the 1998 Van Zandt County Fair for my ceramic pig named Louise. The pig's head and hoofs are made of ceramic, and the body is cloth. The dress and pants are also handmade for the craft fair.

Then again in 1999, I won a second place ribbon for a ceramic vase made by combining two different molds and painted with a stone textured paint.

2000

2001

Third Place ribbon goes to hand painted dishes, made from ceramic slip.

I also won a second place ribbon in the photographic category, and another second place ribbon in collectables for my "bell collection."

I entered one item in the 2001 Van Zandt County Fair in the quilted wall hanging category.  I won a first place blue ribbon, as well as a Best of the Fair ribbon in the quilting division.  This wall hanging features pictures of my immediate family and now hangs in a place of honor in the guest bedroom of our home.

2003

In 2003, I won three first place blue ribbons, as well as two Best of the Fair ribbons, one in Home Beautification and the other in Adult Clothing.

2004

In 2004, We entered 5 items in the Van Zandt County Fair.  Buster took a first place ribbon with his hydrangeas.  My tote bag took first place plus "Best of Fair" in the holiday division.  My hand painted tea cup, saucer and glass also won a blue ribbon.  In the quilt division, my basket sampler quilt won a first place ribbon, and finally my ceramic cross took a second place in the "wall hanging" division.
