Paulette as a Woman
| Besides being the Mother of a beautiful daughter, I also had a career which began in the insurance business as an office assistant. I expanded my knowledge into personal lines underwriting. In the early 70s, I stepped out on my own, when I bought a dry cleaning plant and ran that business for eight years. The hassles of the self-employed encouraged me to "get a real job," which was in banking. |

In 1987, I was honored as Banker of the Year for Texas Commerce Bank - Garland. I transferred to the Dallas branch of Chase Bank where I soon was promoted to Banking Officer. I held the position of Operation Unit Manager in the Credit Department when I retired. |
| There is more to my life than my work. My interests outside of a job are numerous, but I will only mention a few. Let me first tell you how much I enjoyed taking painting lessons from Molly Walls. Take a peek at a few of my very own oil paintings by clicking on the "Mission" painting. | |
| One morning over coffee, a friend recounted a story of a fellow “soccer mom” who had just written and published her first novel. My friend asked the "soccer mom" how she did that. She told her she used a computer to write her story. I thought to myself, “I have one of those” (computer, that is), and two years later, I completed my first fiction novel, Lansing Lost. Click on the picture to the left for a preview of this novel. | |
| My interests include ceramics, quilting, and all types of arts and crafts. Each year I enter at least one item in the Van Zandt County Fair. Take a look at some of my ribbon winning entries by clicking on the fairgrounds picture. |
